PICCO Engineering provides comprehensive structural design and review for a wide variety of residential project types and communities, including high and mid-rise condominiums, townhomes, semi and detached homes, modern custom homes, underground parking, retaining walls, renovations, basement retrofits, foundation walls and underpinnings. As a firm we have direct experience or experience through our impressive team of professional engineers to deliver on any type of residential building including 40+  storey condo buildings with underground parking (See Gallery – Residential).

For example, we recognize that time is money, and therefore quick turnaround times are vital. We ensure that we maintain attention to detail and do not compromise quality for speed. We routinely save clients significant material costs through our extensive calculations, which in turn facilitate cost-effective structural solutions. Our long-term success is due to a refined and efficient process that began in 1992. Our lead Senior Engineer has been with PICCO for almost 20 years and is widely known and respected in the industry. His low-rise process includes the following:

  • Review Designer plans, and size structural components of building including –
    • Beams
    • Lintels
    • Columns
    • Foundations
    • Framing
    • Special Details
  • Provide mark-ups for Designer revisions
  • Review of third party floor and roof drawings
  • Certifications of drawings by way of stamp and permit submissions

Additionally, we also perform site inspections, letters of certification, and soil report review. Again, ‘value-engineering’ is always first and foremost in our approach with any project.
